Dominique Davis has the skill set, but he lacks the consistency scouts covet.
I’ve confirmed that 17 NFL teams attended East Carolina’s Pro Day on Thursday, March 22nd. The following teams were in Greenville to observe the Pirates talent – the Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Buffalo Bills, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Giants, New York Jets, Oakland Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans.
The most intriguing prospect from East Carolina is quarterback Dominique Davis. A raw talent, who possesses the athleticism and size (6-foot-3, 218 pounds) needed to make it at the next level; Davis could be an interesting late-round selection of a team looking for a developmental quarterback.
A former Boston College recruit and JUCO standout, Davis started the last two years for the Pirates and amassed some impressive numbers. He completed 66-percent of his passes for 7,192 yards, 62 touchdowns and 35 interceptions. Obviously his TD-to-INT ratio is a bit high, but with the proper coaching he could improve as a signal caller.
Other East Carolina prospects that will likely hear their name called on draft day are: wide receiver Lance Lewis (6th Round) and cornerback Emanuel Davis (7th Round).
